June Update: New Features and Improvements

June has already started. This month, I have been adding several new features to Post Black Belt and continuing to refine existing screens so they feel easier to use. In this post, I will briefly summarize the recent updates.

Whenever I build a new feature, I try to think about whether it fits naturally into the flow of training and journaling. This update also focuses on helping you look back on the records you built up during the month and choose what information you want to see or share.

New Home Screen

The Home screen has been updated. You can now view this month's journal entries as a technique map grouped by positions such as Guard, Guard Pass, and Submission. Seeing records build up on the calendar is nice, but being able to quickly understand which positions you trained most during the month makes it easier to plan your next sessions.

Monthly training sharing has also become more flexible. When sharing your monthly recap, you can choose exactly which information to include. You can share only the details you want, such as workout counts, journal content, or the technique map. Since training records can be personal, I wanted sharing to feel more natural and adjustable.

Holiday Support

Checking holidays on the calendar

You can now check each country's holidays on the calendar. This turned out to be useful more often than I expected, especially when planning rest days, checking gym schedule changes, or organizing training while traveling. This update was also shaped by user feedback, and feedback is always welcome if there is anything you need or anything that feels inconvenient.

You can also change the country in Settings. I hope this makes the calendar more useful for people living abroad or training while traveling. You may or may not have noticed it, but I also updated the calendar transition animation. It is a small change, but since the calendar is a screen many people see every day, I wanted it to feel a little smoother.

Improved My Hashtags Screen

Checking recorded and unrecorded technique hashtags

I also improved the My Hashtags screen. You can now see the hashtags you have already recorded and the ones you have not recorded yet at a glance. Checking the techniques you use often is important, but seeing the empty areas can be surprisingly helpful too.

The technique graph is still useful for seeing the overall flow, but sometimes this kind of hashtag list makes things clearer. You can use it to review the techniques you keep repeating, the positions you have not explored yet, and the techniques you may want to ask about in your next class.

2026 Competition Data Added

I have also been adding 2026 competition data. Winners from the recent World Championship have been added, and 2026 match videos are being added as well. I am slowly organizing them so you can revisit favorite athletes and recent competition trends inside the app.

Competition data can become difficult to find over time, so I want to keep building it up steadily. Looking at your own training records together with competition videos can also make the techniques or styles you want to practice feel much clearer.

Other Improvements

I am also improving the login and onboarding flow, along with overall app performance. These may not always be the most visible changes, but the first experience of starting the app and the speed of daily journaling should keep getting better.

I am preparing more updates for next month as well. If there is anything that feels inconvenient or any feature you would like to see improved, please feel free to send feedback anytime. I will keep improving Post Black Belt so it can become a longer-lasting and more enjoyable place for your jiu-jitsu records.
